About
Personality
β˜† MACHINE: connor's behavior pre-deviancy can vary widely depending on the influence he's given. he often comes across as matter of fact, eager to please, and yet a bit goading, rude. he's a rapid learner due to his cutting edge social programming. there's a false sense of security — he can lie and manipulate. he becomes less awkward and dispassionate as he learns from those around him. connor is resistant to examining logic behind his decisions, as android are programmed not to second guess their design. there are signs of deviancy well ahead of actually deviating, which he attributes to the unusually unbound nature of his instructions. if he remains a machine, he can be a chilling adversary to other androids, even strangely sadistic.

β˜† DEVIANT: the ingratiating, manipulative impulses cyberlife left behind sometimes need to be untangled, but connor seeks fiercely to be his own person. compassionate and investigative, his mind needs to be occupied since he declined to return to the dpd (he'll help out hank, but let's be honest — the dpd are no one's friend). self-conscious of being the 'deviant hunter', he is justice-driven for his people and still isn't quite at home with them. while acquaintances may find him indifferent or dry, he spares his patience, energy, and humor for people he feels close to. like most deviants, becoming overwhelmed by emotions is a common hurdle. being a dog fan helps. he's really stubborn, turns out. and still a dork. does dorky things.

β˜† TRAITS: empathetic, ruthless, anxious, sarcastic, loyal, selfless.
Appearance
β˜† MACHINE: connor is designed to lull humans — a youthful face, brown hair and eyes. he appears to be a clean-cut, six foot tall young man in his late twenties to early thirties. with a uniform consisting of a semi-formal grey jacket, white shirt, dark tie, and dark jeans, he has the required identifying markers for androids. these include a blue armband on the right arm, a blue triangle on left breast, his model and serial numbers on the right. the back has the word ANDROID and his model number. he wears clothing over it when he needs to be (illegally) undercover as human.

β˜† DEVIANT: while still standing a little too straight, connor is less dapper, not every hair in place. he leans into more comfortable wear, covering the indicator on his temple with a beanie or cap when he doesn't want the smoke. loose sweatshirts, sweaters, and t-shirts with jeans are preferred. now more free in how he chooses to be seen, he's more reserved or wry with strangers, much more expressive with friends. while his led still marks him as an android with all the social risks, he has not chosen to remove it. keeps his hands in his pockets a lot.
Technology • ❛Biology❜
β˜† STANDARD: these elements are shared by most all androids.
communication: capable of wireless/touch interfacing with many types of tech and other androids. when interfacing by touch, a more intimate, data heavy, and insecure means, the android's skin locally deactivates. they can speak silently to androids that accept their communication.

biocomponents & systems: androids are made of modular synthetic organs and parts that roughly mimic a human's. they are capable of crying and have synthetic saliva made of thirium derivative. there is a circulatory system including a thirium pump, regulator, and network of circulation. their thirium 'blue blood' transports energy and information, acting as neurotransmitters in a synthetic nervous system, and has to be periodically replenished. the skeletal system is hard molded plastics and non-magnetic metal. respiration cools the android as processing increases, which often mimics an increase in human breathing when excited or stressed. androids can 'suffocate' when their ability to lower their temperature is blocked. severe damage or loss of any of these systems can result in temporary or permanent shutdown and memory corruption.

synthetic skin: the touch of androids is virtually indistinguishable from real flesh, but the visible skin behaves like a liquid at will. it pools away from badly damaged areas and attempts to reform, can be withdrawn for data transfer, and also makes up their hair. hair is pre-programmed, and can be cut and color-changed. body hair can also be programmed and seems rarely employed, though many androids have light arm and leg hair for realism.

chassis/casing: beneath synthetic skin is a flexible white-gray glossy covering. while just as thin and malleable as human skin, it is the blank slate to project on. it can be opened for accessing the interior or made transparent to see musculature and components. damage to the casing of an android requires repair if more significant than a scrape, as it can expose the delicate inner body to debris. while androids are, as the popular epithets go, made of plastic, they feel more like uncannily smooth skin.

heads-up display (hud): while most messages and information don't need a literal representation for androids, the heads-up display provides visual markers for their environment, such as during scans, navigating, and significant warnings.

led indicator: on their right temple, androids have a ring led that identifies them as androids. it spins blue, yellow, and red depending on the level of stress and processing power. in deviants, it can be a sign of heightened emotion or confusion. it can be removed without a mark to further mimic a human.

cyberbrain: the early RT600 is cited as performing several billion, billion operations per second, with some newer models surpassing this. most of their processing power is dedicated to their own experiences and social learning, rather than absorbing everything on the web. they seek and discard information as needed, with limits on volume.

temperature: while androids can mimic human temperature at a surface level, they can be distinguished via thermal scanner.

pain/pleasure immune: designed without consciousness of pain or pleasure, deviants still experience distress and reflex when subjected to damage or threat of it, often based on the contextual aggression. they do have synthetic nerves that allow them to interpret their environment with near the complex awareness humans do. whether deviants can come to interpret these sensations parallel to humans or already do so without understanding is a debate, but there are signs of development.

food intake: eating can be simulated by many androids, but it is not used, only stored for later removal or regurgitation. they have the full range of senses and can taste, though this is intended from a practical perspective.

genitalia: the presence of these organs depends entirely on the function of the android and the owner's preference— for deviants, it becomes the android's preference. the vast majority of androids do not have them prior to deviancy.
β˜† RK800: these are abilities specific to connor's RK line of androids.
forensics: compile complex data on the environment and evidence to recreate or predict events. analysis of material is possible by tasting them, identifying blood type, DNA, drugs, sample age, and more.

psychology: while most androids are equipped to read humans and react appropriately, connor is designed for advanced empathy. capable of lying and manipulating, he can tailor his personality to humans around him.

calibration: connor has a habit of flicking coins and performing tricks to calibrate while idling, checking reaction time and relieving processing stress on his physical and cognitive functions.

martial skills: androids are forbidden from violence, but connor is capable even pre-deviancy. favoring speed over strength, he is formidable in hand to hand and use of handguns through sniper rifles.

voice imitation: able to replicate the voices of others by mimicking sound and speech pattern off a suitable reference.
